New Lunar Year

Happy Lunar New Year!

Kung Hei Fat Choi! 🥳🐍🥢

Snowy Owls have celebrated Lunar New Year today. We started the day by finding out how it is traditionally celebrated and learnt that each year is represented by one of 12 different animals. We were excited to find out which animal year we were each born in and learnt that 2025 is the year of the snake.

We used our amazing fine motor skills to make our own snakes and to practice using chop sticks. We also learnt the Chinese numerals up to 5 and had a go at painting them.

This afternoon, we tried lots of different Chinese foods such as Won Ton and egg noodles and even tried to eat using chop sticks! Everyone took lots of risks in trying some new foods and some even discovered a new favourite food!

We would love to hear about anyone else's celebrations today.
