Using our finger spaces :)

This amazing writing was written by one of our reception children who is starting to use finger spaces between her words to form short sentences! WOW!

Did you know that children must move through a series of stages before they can learn to write? First children must develop strong core muscles through gross motor activities and then hand and finger strength through fine motor activities. Children will begin mark making by scribbling and then will begin to give meaning to their marks by drawing shapes and faces. Finally, children will be able to form recognisable letters which they can develop to form traditional sentences ready for year one.
